Your Driving Test

you need to make sure you choose one that offers quality driving lessons

The Driving Test for car drivers is approximately 40 minutes long. During this time the examiner will:

Check your eyesight by getting you to read a number plate at the required distance. (20m new style plate, 20.5 for old style).

Ask you to show or tell them how to conduct certain vehicle safety checks, your Clearway instructor will have run through these with you before your test.

Direct you to drive around a test route while incorporating two of the set manoeuvres listed below and, optionally, the emergency stop.

You do have the option of having your instructor sit in on your test if you wish.

Set manoeuvres:
Reverse parking behind a parked car or into a parking bay.

Reversing round a corner.

Turn in the road
